2008 CASCADE HEAD MUSIC FESTIVAL

The venerable Cascade Head Music Festival will join with music faculty members from Western Oregon University in Monmouth to present the 22^nd annual music festival to be held in Lincoln City, Oregon. This year, the event will feature a new jazz series May 29-31 and June 1, along with a traditional chamber music program June 12-15. All programs will take place at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, located in the historic DeLake School on Highway 101.

Keller Coker from Western Oregon University is the 2008 music director. He will be joined by Diane Baxter and Tom Bergeron, his colleagues from that institution, as music advisors.

The Jazz Series Weekend, May 30-June 1 will feature the Pinot Noir Jazztet opening for The Midnight Serenaders on May 30, Whirled News on May 31, and The Steve Cannon Blow Hard Big Band on June 1. Performers for the Classical Series Weekend, June 12-15 will include the DeRosa Ensemble, the Florestan Trio, and TonePoem.

Evening concerts are at 7 p.m. with one classical concert on Sunday at 3 p.m. There will be one free, public Encounter (where musicians answers questions from the audience and discuss their art) on Sunday, June 1 at 4 p.m. for jazz and on Saturday, June 14 at 4 p.m. for classical.

Ticket prices for the Jazz concerts are: $60 reserved, $45 general admission (three performance package); $25 reserved, $20 general admission (single performance).
